18th June 1976: as professional bounty hunter Gordon O'Reilly, Sam finds himself handcuffed to Diane Frost, a woman accused of embezzling a million dollars. Although Ziggy says there is a 99.9% chance that Diane is guilty, Al insists that she is innocent, based on the fact that she looks remarkably like one of his many ex-wives; not only must Sam clear Diane’s name, but he must find a way to prevent her and Gordon being murdered by persons unknown… Sam’s plan to escort his prisoner to the Sherriff soon runs aground when Diane causes a commotion that gets them thrown off the bus taking them across Arkansas. When Sam stops another of Diane’s escape attempts after seeking shelter in a barn, Al comments that the duo are showing all the symptoms of falling in love. The following morning Diane finally manages to gives her captor the slip, leaving Sam lying unconscious in a pool of mud as she thumbs a lift from a passing car…
